São Tomé & Príncipe is located in West Africa in the Gulf of Guinea and is crossed by the equator. It's the second smallest country in Africa after the Seychelles, and despite being considered one of the least visited countries in the world, it has experienced a positive tourism growth for the past 10 years, mainly due to the following strategic advantages:
  • It is one of the safest countries in Africa.
  • Stable democratic regime since the independence from Portugal in June 1975.
  • Central European Time (CET), so no jet lag for leisure or business travellers.
  • All year-round tourism destination.
  • Responsible and sustainable tourism approach from local authorities and tourism stakeholders.
